The following are editorial monitoring hypotheses, not additional observed vacancies in this sample.

Role appearing in a target company Possible operating need Alternative explanation Neutral question
Controller at a contractor WIP, cash and reporting discipline Replacing a departing colleague “Which reporting and decision processes will this role own?”
Practice administrator or finance director Partner coordination and operating complexity Routine succession “How do finance, the accountant and partners coordinate changes?”
Fractional CFO for an agency Forecasting, margins or transaction readiness Temporary cover “Is the need reporting, financing or a defined ownership event?”
Payroll/multistate specialist Distributed workforce administration Bringing outsourced work in-house “Which location changes are driving the workload?”
Tax manager at a growing group Entity/state complexity Consolidating existing responsibilities “Which work remains with external advisers?”

Never describe a vacancy as evidence of dissatisfaction with an accountant. Avoid estimating profit, advisory budget or buying intent from headcount alone. Public role information is a reason to ask an appropriate business question, not a completed qualification.
